How Much Does a Termite Inspection Cost?

I wrote a post called "How Much Does Termite Control Cost?" previously, but I failed to address another commonly asked question.

How much does a termite inspection cost?

Usually, inspection comes free unless it requires more equipment or extra time for inspection. I remember my pest control person told me if the inspection takes more than 30 minutes, he would charge me $30 for every 30 minutes added. I was worried about that, but the inspection was done in less than 10 minutes, probably because my house is tiny. But check with your termite treatment professional about that. If they don't offer free inspection, don't be shy to ask for one.

Termite control professionals do free inspections because they know most of customers are desperate and will go with first termite control company they find. It also feels uncomfortable having them go after a thorough inspection. But if you don't feel comfortable with the price, ask for discount. Usually when they quote, they quote with some margin for discount. Don't be shy. Also don't hesitate to say bye to them after the inspection if you want to get more quotes. If they suddenly become nasty, there's no reason to go with them in the first place.

Anyway, so to answer the question, how much does a termite inspection cost?, usually FREE!

a professional inspection should cost $100.00 plus for 1000 sq ft house and go up from there–any body that does a 10 min. inspection should be kicked out of your house–hire a professional termite company and ask questions and do your home work–a free inspection is worthless thats why it’s free

It is also very hard to refuse to hear a sales pitch after a free inspection. I bet 90% of time homeowners just go ahead and have the inspector do the treatment.
